This might not be a bad book but it's outdated. It is a biography that was written a few years before Melissa Etheridge wrote her own autobiography. Since I read the autobiography first I already know Melissa's side of things, and I can see where Joyce is misinformed. It's not her fault really. She didn't have all of Melissa's insights to use when she wrote the book. It is interesting to read other people's perspectives about Melissa's life, but it's not as accurate as reading it from the source herself.
I got this book through inter-library loan and I'm sending it back without finishing it because I have a long reading list, and I don't think I'm going to gain much by reading this version of Melissa's life. Melissa's autobiography was very good, very personal, and this biography just can't measure up in comparison.
